BoBo Was His Name-O

Day 04 – 30 Day Blog Challenge

Two and a half years ago I got a dog from a friend. The dog had been mistreated and was taken away from their original owner, but my friend couldn’t take care of the dog so I brought him home. It was love at first sight, I loved the pup (especially since he looked so much like my old dog). His name was BoBo and for awhile he was the center of my life… sort of. My scheduled revolved around taking care of the dog.

Unfortunately, this summer my family and I realized that we couldn’t take care of the dog anymore due to time restraints and the stress he was posing on my family. So what did I do? I took him to the local animal shelter. Now before you go around cursing me let me tell you this, I cried my eyes out for days.

The good news is that he got readopted and though he’s not with me anymore, he’ll always be one of my ‘best friends.’

My Current Ideal First Date

Day 03 – 30 Day Blog Challenge

Your idea of the perfect first date.

Not sure what to say to this really. The main point of a date would have to be two things: 1. Getting to know the guy and 2. Having mad crazy fun without a thought.

What does this mean? It means that I don’t want a guy to make me feel awkward by taking me out to someplace romantic. Instead I would rather have him take me Panera Bread (LOVE their broccoli and cheddar bread bowl soup!) so we could get to know each other. Then we would head off NOT to the movies, but perhaps to the arcade or an amusement park or something. Whatever it is, it would have to be fun, casual and in a public area. Why? Well… I don’t really care to be overly serious on the first day and being a tomboy, I’m not too fond of dressing up. The third requirement is for my own safety and comfort. Guys! Do not pick the movies or any secluded areas as a first date, that is NOT how you get to know a girl.

Now this does not mean that I don’t want to romanced off my feet, I do. I’m a romantic like anyone else, but that should come afterwards. When I’m not wavering between “do I like or not?”

What are your ideas of the perfect first date?

Failing to Eat Healthy

Day 02 – 30 Day Blog Challenge

Early this year I went to my doctor for my yearly check-up. I figured, hey, I should be ok since I’m only 20-something and not over weight. Hah! Apparently that wasn’t such a great way to think about my health. The doctor told me that I was still anemic (iron defficient which wasn’t a surprise) and that I needed to go to a specialist. A cardiologist. Now say what? What exactly is wrong with my heart? Apparently there is a slight irregularity, nothing too serious, but something worth looking into. A few days later I get a call about my blood work. I also happen to have high cholesterol which would explain the heart thing.

It has been awhile and I have yet to go to the cardiologist. Why? Well… I’m unemployed and have no health insurance since it is so costly. I figured that I would cut down on the high intake (goodbye my lovely eggs) and exercise a bit.

The thing about trying to eat healthy is that I know what NOT to eat American food wise and other fast foods, but what about Korean food? My mom is constantly making yummy food and I just can’t not Korean food. Some dishes are obviously healthier than others but what about fishcake soup with seaweed and radish?

A photo of something you ate today.

I feel like it’s in the middle. But yeah, that was my BIG meal for the day. No, I don’t eat only once a day nor am I anorexic. I just happen to eat one full meal and several small things throughout the day. It’s nicer to my stomach and metabolism that way.

So my question is… what should I do about the in-between foods? I can’t hardcore exercise since apparently I could suffer a mild heart attack or something (not too mention to bad knees I was born with). And I really don’t want to give up Korean food T_T;;
