If you follow my Twitter, then you know that I’ve been gushing about my Kindle Fire, and that I’ve been neglecting the rest of world because of it. For a long time, I debated whether I really wanted to get an eReader since I LOVE the feel and smell of physical books. Obviously, I caved, and I’m damn happy about it too.
The first day I had my Kindle Fire, I went on a shopping spree. For free eBooks. Oh my gosh. Why are there so many? And why hadn’t I tried to read them before? Yes, some of them are crap. But I have found quite a few that I have fallen in love with (though there are typos that just obstruct my reading, but not quite as many as I thought there may be.)
Currently, I have about 75+ eBooks. All of which I get to carry around with me in a lovely little package. When I told my dad proudly that I had so many books, his response was an indifferent, “That’s it?” At first I wanted to scream, but then I realized. Wow, that is quite a small number, considering the fact that the Kindle Fire is said to be able to hold 60,000 eBooks. Ahaha. My dad is going to regret that comment. I’ve been attached to that little toy all holiday and I won’t be letting it out of my sight anytime soon. Especially since I’ve discovered the world of self-published authors.
As much as I love my Kindle Fire, this will in no way stop me from buying the physical books, if I love them enough. But there are times when having an eReader is great. I’ve been wanting to read the Hunger Games trilogy, but never saw them in paperback. Fortunately for me, eBook was a path I could go down now since I am longer restricted to reading strictly from my computer or iPhone.
FYI; I absolutely LOVED the Hunger Games trilogy. So much emotion!
